“Bridges” opening in Florence tomorrow at the Colonica of Il Palmerino is my book art installation where “The Female Gaze meets the Oltrarno Gaze” 5 May – 5 June. I shall be exhibiting with other international artists showing work that responds to female artists of the past connected with Florence. I have written about my work in progress and the four female artists I have been researching in my The Florentine article https://www.theflorentine.net/2022/03/28/oltrarno-gaze-inspires-female-gaze-artist-experience/

Come to Residenza d’Arte il Palmerino on the opening evening or join me there on the successive days.

“Bridges” is part of the Oltrarno Gaze” programme organized by the British Institute of Florence and Il Palmerino Cultural Association with a grant from the Advancing Women Artists legacy fund. Advancing Women Artists did so much over the years to restore, promote, re-evaluate and make visible the work of many historical women artists in Florence including Suor Plautilla Nelli and Artemisia Gentileschi, so this series of events that creates a dialogue between contemporary female artists and their historic counterparts is a fitting legacy and celebration of its work.

Here are details of a few of my works before they were rolled up for their journey to Florence from England. Now released from confinement they have been arranged into an installation which you will be able to see from tomorrow!
