Rea Stavropoulos is an Artist, Writer, Curator, Educator and Advocate for women artists and believes that an involvement with Art should be central to our lives.

Her artwork combines delicacy and dynamism. It links the female figure with the changing forms and colours of the natural environment through a variety of media including drawing, painting, video, artists’ books and collaborative performance. She worked over ten years on an “outdoor canvas”, creating a garden on a Tuscan hillside.

“I have lived and travelled between two cultures, Greek and English, since I was a baby adding a third and fourth, as a student in Paris and later by adopting Florence as my home. Travelling from an early age across Europe at a time when a train journey was a real adventure, I experienced the exhilaration of shifting perspectives, new angles of vision and an intense appreciation of the light, mood, colour and atmosphere that distinguish each country. That sense of excitement and discovery is what motivates my work: exploring the fragile beauty and grandeur of the world and my place within it.”
