Its lovely to be exhibiting with this cabinet of curiosities – a selection of artworks on the theme of “Hair” presented by Francesca Cluney, a long-time collaborator of mine, whose own flowing locks feature in my two watercolour paintings of her just above the Hair-Dresser. Francesca describes the works in the exhibition as “exploring hair symbolism, folklore, body politics, allure and disgust” through sculpture, paintings, drawings and photos, all attesting to “the rich variety of meaning and symbolism tied up in hair alongside its aesthetic allure”. The exhibition is in the “Bits and Bobs” studio in New England House, Brighton.
