Much of the fun in organising our Open Studios for our is in the collaboration involved with the other artists in the building. Many of us work alone for much of the time but get together to plan this annual event for New England House in Brighton. Here we are – Heike, Linda, Lance and me brightening up the cavernous Level 3 corridor on the ground floor with two works of mine, one is a mixed media work depicting and celebrating an event masterminded by another New England House phenomenon: the Grand Drawing Circus at the Old Market. The other is called “The Conversation” – the model is photographer and artist Michaela Meadow and is my homage to Matisse. The photos of the four of us are by Jo Riddell, a fellow exhibitor. We are open on Friday 6 December 11 am – 8pm; Saturday 7 & Sunday 8 December 11am – 6pm. Hell’s Kitchen will be open throughout our opening hours selling delicious food and drink and there is something for every age and budget as you explore the building.
